Richard "Rick" Larson
President & CEO
Rick began his insurance career with State Farm Insurance in 1979 at the
State Farm Regional Office in Roseville, MN. He held a number of positions
including Worker's Compensation Claim Representative with the
responsibility for the entire state of Wisconsin.
In 1989, he was promoted to Fire and Casualty Senior Claim Representative
and moved his family to Duluth, MN. While remaining in Duluth, MN, he was
selected to the Corporate National Disaster Reinspection Team in 1996.
In 1999, Rick again relocated his family as a result of being selected as
one of only seven managers to develop State Farm’s Catastrophe Claim
Central in Jacksonville, Florida. In this position he was responsible for
assisting in the development of a claims department that adjusted claims
for every state from a single location.
In 2005, Rick was selected to the position of Director of Catastrophe
Operations with Citizens of Florida. After a challenging 2004 hurricane
season, Citizens was looking to recreate their Catastrophe operation and
Catastrophe plan. Rick and his management team made significant
improvements resulting in shorter time to claim settlement and decreased
customer complaints.
In 2008, Rick started consulting for insurance companies in the area of
claims, including the position of consulting VP of Claims. He also managed
independent teams for a number of very large catastrophic events including
Hurricane Ike, the BP oil spill and Hurricane Irene.
Rick joined Gulfstream on September 1, 2012, as the Vice President of
Claims. He created many new processes and procedures including the
development and implementation of the Adjusters Certification Conference.
On December 3 , 2014, Rick co-founded Anchor PCIC and was designated
the Vice President of Claims. While employed by Anchor, he was instrumental
in the purchase of Lozano Insurance Adjusters and was named President of
LIA at the time of the acquisition.
Rick holds a Bachelor Degree in Organizational Communications from
Concordia College and has his AIC designation.
